A Little Background

Sara Jordan began producing educational resources while teaching at an inner-city school in Toronto. Frustrated by the illiteracy of her students, she felt compelled to help under-achievers become more successful. Jordan's background in education (as a Special Ed. and Music teacher), and as a professional performer and film composer seemed to mesh together to help her create a company known for consistent quality and educational content.

Since the company's inception, in 1990, over 60 curriculum-based audio CD/book kits, incorporating over 600 songs, have helped millions of students boost literacy and numeracy skills the world over.

Jordan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from North Texas State University and a Bachelor or Education from the University of Toronto.Sara Jordan Publishing has produced an impressive array of award-winning educational programs. She has overseen the publication of over 84 educational audio programs and resource books teaching Math, Phonics, Health and Social Studies, many available in English, Spanish, French and Mandarin.

Our company is well known for the free newsletters in English and Spanish, which we send to 40,000 teachers and parents world-wide, bi-weekly. These newsletters include teaching ideas, links and free song downloads.

What began as a very small company, Sara Jordan Publishing has now grown significantly over the years. Sara presents workshops to teachers in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. She travels to trade shows, book fairs, and teacher conferences in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Germany, and has been invited to work as a consultant to educational publishers as far away as India.
